I was one of the lucky winners and just got back from our incredible ride. We took a tour over the sea along the coast heading north from the airport to around Blue Reef. It was really awesome to see the sharks in the gorgeous turquoise water and the beautiful homes and resorts from the air. The ride was very smooth and comfortable, I'd definitely recommend it. They offer tours of Belize mainland as well. I'd love to do that tour when we have family visit. Gustavo Jr. said that you can see jaguars and other jungle animals very clearly, along with many beautiful waterfalls. Both Gustavo Sr. and Gustavo Jr. are very nice and I felt completely safe in their hands. It was a really fun experience. I can't wait to do it again.

Azul Belize from the helicopter

About a week ago, while in SP celebrating my 50th, I was surprised with a helicopter tour of Turneffe, Blue Hole, Laughing Bird Caye, Caye Caulker, all points in between, and a sweeping ariel view of Ambergris Caye - North and South.

The entire experience was absolutely fabulous. Gustavo Jr met our group at the municipal airport in Belize City. From the moment you meet him, you know his operation is only top-notch. Astrum Helicopters' facilities are located a short 5 minute drive from the Belize municipal airport. Their operation is comparable to any high quality FBO in the US.

Gustavo Sr was our pilot. What a professional. During the flight, he pointed out many sights that would have otherwise been missed. Want to go higher/lower, make another pass, hover or make a steep bank for a better picture, whatever you want, Gustavo Sr took us there.

For those of you that have not experienced the islands from the air, it adds a whole other deminsion to just how wonderful paradise really is. If your plans call for ariel services while in Belize, or if you just want to have the experience of a lifetime, I enthusiastically recommend Astrum Helicopters.

I was up with Astrum yesterday. What an experience! What a team! Can't explain it, as it was my first, kinda' like flying but more like floating as in a dream.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants a bird's eye view of everything.

Have to agree, the sensation wasn't anything like I expected. I'm loading up pictures this morning and should have a link by lunch (depending on BTL).

This opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for exploring the beauty and wilderness of Belize!
