hey fellow boards, i need some info on the water taxi from the mainland to AC, i always fly tropic to AC, but it does not look like i'm going to be able to fly due to the lugguage that i am bringing so i need to know how the water taxi works? any help would be appreciated.

I love taking the taxi over and then flying back!
Clear customs, grab a cab outside the airport and ask them to take you to the water taxi terminal - should run you about $20 US irrespective of how many people. Buy your tickets at the terminal (they take US or BZE cash, travellers checks, Visa, No AMEX, not sure about MC) $15 one way as of last Sept. and wait for the next taxi. Someone has posted a schedule somewhere, but not sure where.

It's a great way to ease into your vacation as you watch the mainland dissappear, feel the breeze and see the cayes approach. Have fun!!

I agree law - my hubby and I call it "blown back" (as in hair in the wind). No better way to start your holidays!

How about the boat from Corozal? I know there is a post on it but has anyone done it. My wife and I are going to Cancun in November and thinking about sneaking down for a day or two. How long is the bus ride from cancun to corozal?
And if it's too late a decent hotel in corozal close to the pier where the boat takes off from. OH that would be planes that take off.

Danza, the bus ride from Cancun to chetumal is roughly 5 to 6 hours if you take the first class express, then you will need to take a taxi over the border into Corozal to catch the flight. It is a lot of traveling for just a day or two on AC but if you are a die hard, its an experience!
