How can I even explain how it is living outside of the U.S.? When you step outside the borders, the rest of the world sees Cuba in a different light, a light that is not constrained by U.S. political tunnel vision manipulation. The U.S. is virtually the only country in the world with a hard-on for Cuba. How is it that your neighbors to the north are great friends with Cuba? What about the English and French and Dutch and German allies in Europe? Love them! My husband would have to argue about TannedBanana's claim of second rate medical education. He went to Cuba twice for laser eye surgery last year and received the most professional (and free) medical care in his life. 7 minutes of laser surgery, a week's stay with all expenses paid, airfare, food, nice hotel. Without it he would not be able to drive at night. Belize and the whole Caribbean basin is blessed to receive so much humanitarian aid from Cuba. Belize would not want to alienate Cuban and risk losing aid. Castro wont let the U.S. dictate to and annex Cuba and that pisses the current president off.
Funny....all that rambling and not one mention of THOUSANDS of Cubans murdered in firing lines by Castro and Che. As usual lots of free shit makes up for it all.

Here is an exerpt from writer Humberto Fontova's book FIDEL:Hollywood's Favorite Tyrant. Fontova was BORN IN CUBA. Here is the first part of his story:

"Humberto Fontova was born in Havana, Cuba. He and his family of 5 attempted to leave in 1961, but only 4 of them were successful. Humberto Fontova Sr. (author's father) was grabbed by the milicianos......

......The next day, from a cousin's house in Miami, Esther called Cuba and found out that Humberto Sr. was in La Cabana, firing squad central where 2100 men and boys were murdered."

Good ol' Fidel.....may he burn in Hell. Hey...that ryhmes smile

What about the millions of innocent people the U.S. has killed in the name of "Democracy." One example would be the backing of the Guatemalan Coup in the 70s-80s that resulted in the death of 100k indiginous people in that area. These people just wanted their land back to grow some food. However does this act (and many many more) discredit all the positive things in the U.S.
Of course not, just like Castro killing his some of his opponents doesnt discredit what he has done. Have you ever read "The People History of the U.S." by Howard Zinn? If you are truly interested in the history of the U.S. then I suggest you check it out. What we are taught in schools, and hear on television is just one side of the multi-faceted truth.

Right...and Gitmo is a concentration camp for hard working bakers and candlestick makers too, huh?

Castro killed "some of his OPPONENTS"??????? Wow...didn't know THOUSANDS of innocent men, women and children murdered while fighting for freedom from oppression was a bad thing.

Funny you mention Guatemala...I have a good Guatemalan friend born in 65' whos father, a government official, fled with his family to the States in 84'. They have a much different story to tell. Guess it just depends on if you fight for freedom or murder for the hammer and sickle which side you're on.

Besides, why argue when I can post funny pictures....

W started the third world war three years ago and now he salivates for Cuba. So sad. Let the twins sign up and go fight. Anyone think that will happen? Not.

I believe the corollary is that a having a tanned banana does not necessarily enhance one's ability to rise above rhetorical fantasy.

Right...because Cuba is such a threat. it's really just for there large supply of great cigars and 57' Chevys.

(And I think it was the desire for an all islamic world that started WW III)

No more than having a thesaurus enhances one's intellect.

If I understand your logic, it's not all the killing you mind so much, just the motivation for it.

Just for the record, I respect your right to represent the uniformly uninformed citizenry of tanned banana land.
