Very interesting but please avoid using the words allies, French, and German in the same sentence.

Silkpainter, I'm sure you'd defend everyones right to freedom of speech and choice, right? Would you defend every Cuban persons right to the same?
As for your good husband and his "week's stay with all expenses paid, airfare, food, nice hotel" (in Cuba) Good for him! ...the problem is that Cubans themselves don't get any of that.
As for your statement "What about the English and French and Dutch and German allies in Europe? Love them!" Whatever the "Love them!" thing means. Just because those governments choose not to place an embargo on Castro's Cuba does not mean those governments approve of Castro's policies. Far from it.
The dumb thing the USA is doing with Cuba IS the embargo. Open up trade, flood Cuba with lots of good cheap goods, give them a taste of the good life and watch the Castros melt away into oblivion.
Finally: "Castro wont let the U.S. dictate to and annex Cuba and that pisses the current president off." So what about Kennedy, Johnson, Carter and Clinton (Democrats)....what did they do any different from this president or the other Republican prezzies?
You must absolutely LOVE Chavez.

dog, You seem to have somewhat of a decent command of the English language. I am curious as to your story (without being to intrusive). Your country of origin, your current country of residence, etc. I am only assuming an individual as bright as yourself wasn't educated under a third world communist/socialist regime. You seem to have probably taken advatage of a capitalist system that afforded you the opportunity to make choices.
btw...you would probably be a most fascinating person to have a drink with. Please don't take everything to heart. My hatred for all things oppressive stops after 3 beers and a shot.

I think I heard that China has really good schools if your lucky enough to go. If your a member of the party. And of course if your female lucky enough to survive to school age. Since most female babies are killed shortly after birth. Cuba could use some more trade schools and maybe teach how to keep those 57 Chevrolet's floating longer or moving faster. Why don't we move right into religion next????

DANZA, your information on mortality rates for female infants in China is a bit outdated. Your English skills however, are a shining tribute to the benefits of 12 years in the United States' educational system.
I'm against moving right into religion until we've adequately covered sex.
Oh, and way to win friends and influence people there, Mr. Banana. Blatant insults always make for a wonderful first impression.

Guatemala Opens Hospital with Cuban Aid- Guatemala, Aug 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba s Health Minister Jose Ramon Balaguer and Guatemalan President Oscar Berger are inaugurating a modern ophthalmology center in this Central American nation Friday, equipped and staffed by the government of Cuba. Twenty-three Cuban professionals will work in the hospital in northern San Cristobal Verapaz, as part of Operation Miracle, whereby low-income people with eye diseases are treated. Speaking at a press conference, Balaguer informed that the project has so far benefited over 256,000 Latin Americans, among them 2,000 Guatemalans. He added that 30,000 Cuban doctors, nurses and technicians are serving in 68 countries, and expressed the Island s willingness to extend cooperation with Guatemala, where a 400-strong medical brigade is distribted among 17 provinces.

lawcucui, before we get to sex, as a topic, let's go into the cancer of Islamic fundamentalism. We can't live with cancer and the way I see it the only thing keeping us from eradicating it is the Geneva Convention and bad press from Hitler's reign. What are your thoughts....Hummmmmm

Shouldn't we go ahead and throw the encroachment of Darwinian theories into this debate?
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.
