This is a beatiful small intimate resort ,up north very quiet, away from the hussle and bussle of town .I haved never stayed there but have very good friends who did and they loved being up north .There bar/ restuarant is just wonderful on my top ten list for fine dinning!!!!!!Owner /management lives on property so things go like clockwork as this place is there dream.. One of the class north side resorts and one of the best on the island hope this helps go live the dream and enjoy..

Love it! I, too, have not stayed there, but love the owners, management, staff, food, bar, view and not horribly far from town!

Just a note to let you know they do not have a freshwater pool. This may not be important to you. Otherwise in my research, not having stayed there personally, the comments are all very positive. smile

Portofino has no pool at all - but it has a fabulous pier with a swimming kral (kind of a pool in the sea) - it's lovely.

Can non guests use the swimming area?

My wife and I stayed very close to there and spoke with a lot of people that walked by. Everyone staying at Portofino had nothing but good things to say. In answer to the critical question "Would you stay there again", the answer was always YES. We have not stayed there but did eat there and it was great.

Bar, Food, and hospitality, the best.
Ate there quite a few times for lunch, next trip will have dinner .
Gotta love the North AC, looking upscale more and more.
