we celebrate both, hubby is a goy (christian). did hanukkah last night. our kids are small, so we stay home xmas eve, and go to his mom's xmas day every year. this year, to his sister's. lotsa cousins (ages 1 - 21), lotsa presents, lotsa drinking, lotsa eating, lotsa chatting. usually a good time. my other sis-in law always makes us sing carols at the end of the evening, when half are crocked.
...and, i got a babysitter for new years! (a real coup)

annie - i'm making the berry yam mallow this xmas. i love it!

happy holidays, all.

My best gift this year is that we have my 20 year old step-son with us for Christmas for the first time. The other two are in England with their Mum and we only get them over here for the summer.
The lump of coal in my stocking is from Chrysler. Since they are cutting back so much, hubby's hours are way down and my hoped for trip to AC this spring is probably not going to happen :-(

P.S. I'm making the Cranberry Grand Marnier Cheesecake too (actually Cranberry-Cointreau). Wish me luck and I'll let you know how it turns out.

I wish the joy of the season to everyone!
(Ha, that was much easier to spell than any of the other holiday wishes)

Jane, I tried to make the cheese cake but my oven is sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold. Anyway the cheese cake did not really turn out. We were planning to picnic on an island today and my son suggested eating the anchor and using the cheesecake to keep the boat in place.... I know the recipe is a good one it must have been the cook. Embarrassed on Marco.....

Jane!!
Your cranberry Grand Marnier cheesecake was out of this world. It came out perfect. I was so pleased and so proud. Thanks for the recipe!! Now everyone is asking for the recipe.

As far as what I got. I got a beautiful set of new luggage for Christmas. I went through every pocket of every bag. My husband was perplexed and asked me what I was doing..... My reply? "Looking for my tickets to Belize of course....." Looks like I have to wait till Valentines Day..... [Linked Image]
