I agree with your thoughts exactly. This wasn't quite the situation here.
Maybe it would be helpful if the incident that occured at Iguana Reef Inn was explained.
During the grand opening of the new bar, Pedro was asked to leave for having his dog in the bar and being drunk and obnoxious. He left but proceeded to bad mouth the place for the next few hours around the island. Then returned even more drunk and obnoxious. He was pursuaded to leave.
The owners of this place have worked very hard to make it what it is - a relaxing, great place to hear music, have a drink and enjoy good company. When people like Pedro crash the party and act ignorant they have to expect to be treated with contempt.
To post such obvious lies to justify poor behavior is beyond contempt. He didn't stay there. He didn't pay for anything. He has no motive to say the things he did except to smear the name and reputation of the people who refused to let him ruin a very special night.
To sum it up - Iguana Reef Inn is a fabulous place to stay. I will go back many times. I will recomend it to friends and business associates without hesitation.
Hopefully people who read negative posts will look further for information instead of taking one persons word.
This is an example of one persons bad behavior. Period

Poor Pedro. You guys are a little rough on him. I was there before Pedro stopped by, and have my own story.
We were invited by several people (not the owners) to stop by for the "opening". We arrived and were greeted by their bar manager (one of the people that invited us to stop by), and ordered the "drink of the house", which we paid for.
We were approached by an arrogant lady who told us that this was a private party and we were not welcome. We were dressed nice, no dog, and certainly weren't drunk.
She was rude, and even when the Bar Manager told her he had invited us, said we had to leave. We finished our drinks and did so.
I appreciate anyone's right to have a private party, but with no free drinks or food, I did not understand the reason for being so pompous and abrupt.
It would have been a little more approiate to have a sign at the entrance identifying it as a "private party, and I would have thought it would have been nice to have people at your opening, especially paying customers.
Regardless, I must agree with at least some of Pedro's comments, because we did comment among ourselves how hot it was, and how much it smelled. But that is a natural part of being on the backside of any island.
As with all "newcomers", I wish them the best, and wait around to watch them fail as most do. Until that time, I do suggest that they could learn to be a little more pleasant, and improve on their social skills.
