I to think the radio stations and the consulates are good ideas. They have ways of investigating these type of things. Send them as much information as possible. I don't know much about Costa Rica, but many people I know travelled there and felt safe. As for Guatamala, we took our kids there for the day. It was pleasant, and we had a wonderful time, but things are very different there. We had a guide who watched us like a hawk and didn't let us out of his sight. Negotiated our passports, and purchased tickets, etc. for us. I didn't see many places in Guatamala that would have a compuer for communication... That's a possibility. I will pray for them to turn up soon.
