Hello all.
Well... Rubba is taking the plunge into marriage this May in NYC, and the only thing my reception is missing is a cold case of Belikin for wifey Chooch and I to toast with. My attempts to get a few cases imported have failed miserably.
Has anyone been able to get behind the Belikin iron curtain and get some goodness stateside? It would complete our special day. Thanks for any help.

Rubba

Uh huh. Yep. That was me.

Rubba,

Let's put the Belikin thing on hold here for just a minute....for some odd reason I feel strongly compelled to ask "how did the future Mrs. Rubba get the nickname 'Chooch'?"

As the story goes...
My future wife "Susie" is very attached to her baby niece. Her niece would refer to her as Choo-Chi (no relation to you) rather than Susie. The "Chuchi" name caught on with her family and stuck, and I have shortened it further to Chooch.
I think a CHOOCHOO explanation is in order now. [Linked Image]

It is my understanding that certain of my friends in the legal profession commonly use the acronym "CHOOCHOO" to refer to an "attractive nuisance". (Ya know, like an unfenced swimming pool).

Makes sense to me although not a word of this reply is true. It'll just have to remain one of those unexplainable things.

As for the Belikin, as long as Barry Bowen and Augie Busch agree to disagree I doubt that you will see much Belikin in your local liquor store soon. Or so I've been told.

Choochoo: So THAT's why I decided to abandon the law after law school and go into banking... It was just that kind of knowledge that I thought would stunt my personal development. That and a distinct fondness for rum now that I think of it...

BW,

Yup, that "attractive nuisance" thing has been a horrible burden to bear. Fortunately, my reputation in San Pedro has not been sullied. Could be worse.

Rubba, I won't make the May nuptials, but I'll be there over Thanksgiving and will be happy to bring some home for you, if possible. I live right around the corner from you in New Milford, so the shipping fees should be minimal!
