Their website is http://www.seasidecabanas.com and can also be accessed through http://www.cybercayecaulker.com
It is one of the nicer places to stay on Caye Caulker, with a bar on the premises. They were built about 2 years ago. The management keeps a tight control of the grounds, so you don't have to worry about being hassled by rastas if you just want to sit in their courtyard, look at the sea and get some sun. Its convenient to be so close to the main peir, and there have been soem complaints about it being noisey so close to a public peir. I have to disagree, the only place that's noisey is near the Oceanside Bar on a Friday or Saturday night. The noise you get from the water taxis dropping off and picking up people is minimum. Our municipal peir is on the back side of the island.

Thanks Lee, for the website, everything I wanted to know and more. My 1st visit to Belize is coming up, and I will be staying on AC, but am looking toward future visits. You have a lovely island, sounds very laid back, very peaceful. Hassled by rastas? Guess I never thought of rastas being part of Belize. Might make it interesting? RastaPasta makes sense now! I take it there are also contributing/working rastas on the island.

I also took the opportunity to visit your site.....WOW! Simply incredible. I look forward to the day I can tour your studio and see your work first hand. Thanks again. smile

Seaside Cabanas is very nice, though expensive by Caulker standards. The fact that it's right at the main public pier means that it, like Trends Beachfront, gets a lot of walk-in business from the water taxis so it stays busy.

thanks Lan. Busy enough to be intrusive? Is there much of a beach there? hard to tell from their photos. It would be a convenient location, but sometimes quiet is nice.

Just depends on what you're looking for. Caulker is never really jammed with people.

The water taxis do come in there, every hour and a half or so. Plus it's the "heart" of the village. The Sandbox restaurant is right there and some other restaurants and shops are close by.

So if you're looking for as much peace and quiet as possible, you might want to go farther south.

Regaurding rasta's on the island??? There are hustlers everywhere that wear hats of many colors... it is just a hair style to some and a way of spiritual life to others.... and no there is no rasta at rasta pasta to confuse you some more...one love Maralyn

Speaking of RastaPasta (is that you Marilyn) while your on Caulker, try the restaurant. I highly suggest the curry. I've been following her around for years.

I enjoyed my stay at the Rainbow. I had a top floor room, end unit with A/C. It wasn't anything special or large, but it was pleasing and had everything I needed, especially an incredible view. The price was right too.

I qualify all of this by saying I only spent one night there.
