And tonight, amidst all this blight, the good news is that the one man who could whisk all these money worries away is in the country - the bad news is, he's not here to bail us out. The richest man in the world, Bill Gates is in Belize on vacation. 7NEWS has confirmed that Gates flew in on his private jet on Saturday morning and was then transported via helicopter to Glover's Reef Atoll.

As we understand it, from there, he made a rendezvous with his yacht, and has been pursuing recreational activities in the waters of southern Belize including reportedly taking lunch yesterday at South Water Caye. There is no word yet on when Gates will return but we'll keep an eye on his jet, which remains under around the clock security at the PGIA. This year, Forbes fortune 500 listed the 49 year old Gates as the richest man in the world with a net worth of $46.5 billion.
