OK, we're looking for a little quieter, less populated spot than AC for the kids' spring break and are considering Placentia. We all dive, fish and like good food and a nice place to stay. Cost isn't the first concern, a good, safe, memorable trip is.

Any feedback for me? Places to stay, guides/dive shops preferred, lay of the land, etc.

Been to SP multiple times and would like a new experience.

Anybody got anything more than klcman for me? I kind of had that part figured out.

I always try to spend a few days in Placincia in order to get over the crazyness of AC.. I stay in town, Westwinds hotel. mostly because it is right on the beach and the owner George is a true piece of work and I mean that in a good way.There are plenty of others as well, just do a search. I have had plenty of good dives with Seahorse Dive Shop, but there are several others as well. There is only 1 dive shop that I would avoid and if you ask around you will know which one. If you are looking for wild partys,night life and dancing, be prepared to generate it yourself. The place is starting to really look up since the Hurricane all but wiped it out 3 years ago. Heve fun..

from the sounds of what you want , I recommend Robert's Grove in Placencia.

We found a great place last year, MayaBreeze Inn. It's on the Placencia peninsula. They can arrange any and all tours and diving. Look them over. They are North of Roberts Grove.

They have cabins on the beach, good sized and priced as well, nicely decorated and very, very clean. Buddy and Tressa are great hosts.

I just talked with Tressa the other night. We're going back there again this next trip.

I second Kitty's. It is about a mile out of town, but a really good place for kids. There is good swimming right off their beach and now they have a pool. It is just south of the airstrip. ENJOY!

Stayed at the Cozy Corner this past may in Placencia. If you are looking for a bargain we only paid $51us/nite. A/C AND 2 double beds with full bath. Very clean with the bar and restaurant on the beach.
