Anybody got one of those things?

yes, do tell why? friend has one, sister has one, much better than the Ipod Minis they no longer make.

Kelli - why are they better? Anybody know how many songs the smaller version actually holds?

I dont get it, but I don't get lots of things on the board, lol, and someone I know reading this will laughing reading that I actually wrote this. lol.

Lawcucui, they are better because the Ipod mini had a horrible amount that would break very fast. I bought my boyfriend one for his bday and within 6 weeks it just read "error" and would not work, got a new one an it broke within 8 weeks! Several friends said the samething.

This was also writen in several reviews for electronics and this is why Ipod discontinued making them all together. Let's hope his third ipod doesn't break...no more exchanging them now!

The smaller version holds 1000 songs, the same as the 4 GB mini.

actually, there is a 2GB and 4 GB ipod nano. The 4 GB ipod nano holds the same as the 4 GB ipod mini-1000 songs. And the 2 GB nano 500 songs. For the small price difference get the 4 GB. A lot of places do not sell the 2 GB anyways.

I know the 2GB is advertised to hold 500 songs - but I wondered if anyone has any experience w/ how many it actually holds . . .

I know the 4 GB actually really does hold 1000, I just called my sister, hers has 1002 songs and my boyfriends 4 GB (again, ipod mini but 4 GB has 998 songs.) so I am sure the 2 GB does hold the 500 they claim.

You'll lose a little space for the program files etc. and they base that on like 3-4 minutes a song......my wife's hold a little over 3 hundred....but some songs are 5-7 minutes...take it from there.....quit screwing around and get a 20 gig......about 3000 songs...should take awhile to fill that up!
