Ages ago I worked in LA in a "high-end" kind of place with a Beverly Hills address, etc.
Our company had an annual symposium for all agents and mangement - during which we were supposed to have fun, learn something and get motivated. Year #1 - the keynote speaker was Jaime Escalante, who was the teacher who got the kids in inner city LA schools to excell scholastically and get into university. A wonderful film was made about him, unfortunately I foget the name (with James Edward Olmos) I was inspired! I cared! I worked and felt proud of the company I worked for.
A couple of years later, the keynote speaker at the symposium was the Chairman of Disney Studios. He told us that at Disney they have a saying - "If you don't come to work on Saturday, don't even THINK about coming in on Sunday."
Well - now you know why it was easy to quit and move to Belize.
