We arrive next Wednesday and were trying to figure out if there are liquor stores in San Pedro, if you buy it at the grocery stores or what. How are the prices? I noticed the Company that does provisioning is very expensive, is this in line with what the stores sell their products at? Any information that can be provided would be great. Any liquor you recomend we bring? We have a few scotch drinkers and someone that drinks Crown. See you in a week!

The liquor and wine prices from Lagniappe (disclosure: I own the company) are the same as the retail prices at Premium Wines and Wine de Vine. So yes, the prices are in line (or less, depending on where you shop) with the stores.

Even thought he owns the company, he is correct. Liquor prices on what I purchase are anywhere from two to two and a half times the price in a store in the US. Take advantage of the duty free purchase in the airport when you leave the States and let the local stores make some money on the rest.

I believe that you can bring in 2 ltrs. of booze per person.
Each picks up 2 ltrs. should cover you and your group for a day, maybe 2 if you ration.

I am pretty sure it is only one litre per person. Pretty restrictive but hey it is still paradise. Try some of the local rum, inexpensive and in the case of One Barrel, very good as well.

That's rather drastic...purchased quite a few case from Premium Wine and Spirits. I have always found their prices inline. Can you provide an example of the 2-21/2 times what you pay?

If this is the case, by all means utilize this service. . I certainly would...as I am used to trundelling down to PW&S the day after arrive to pay for what they have delivered pre our arrival...

to give you an idea....not current...I paid US$70 for a 5 l. box of wine that sells for US$15 in CT.

Drink the local rum and beer.

The French wine that I buy from Premium Wines costs maybe double what I could get it for in Britain (can't say exactly, as I've never bought this actual wine there). In the overall circumstances I don't think that's a bad deal (somewhere around Bz$35/bottle for a good Bordeaux red).
