Thanks for all the great information, I am sure we will use the provisioning Company for many things. To the owner, I was not questioning your business practices, I had no point of reference and was looking for a little help. We will be in AC for 3 weeks and if we can save a little I am all for that. I will make sure to stop in and introduce myself to all or if you see me at one of the bars I will buy you all a drink! I will be the relaxed American with a good tan and a drink in his hand, there can't be many of them down there can there be?

I buy Chilean and Argentina wines from Premium, current favorite red is Altamos, I pay 35 to 40BZ per bottle. Those similar wines in the US cost 10 to 12US. Stoli is about $70BZ, I think that is right as I haven't bought it lately, cost me $22US in States.

Just got back from AC. Rum is cheap and good. Everything else alcohol wise is comparatively expensive. If you bring alcohol with you pack it well. I tried to bring a couple of bottels of one barrel back with me. Due to new regulations it has to be packed in luggage. One made it the other did not. My clothes now have a slight coconut smell to them. keith

Wow, I've just had another look at their excelled price list. Sure enough, a 5L box of bingo / Almaden Chardonay is BZ$145...ouch...same with the other prices as mentioned. Imbibing in Paradise ain't cheap...and don't get me started on the beer situation...

Next time, buy your rum to take home at the duty free area at the airport in Belize City. It is cheaper and because you have already gone through security you can carry it on the plane with you. You already found out what happens if you try to pack it in your luggage.

That will only work if you are flying from BZE directly to your final destination. If you clear customs in the U.S. and then must get on another plane to your Local Airport then you will need to place it in your luggage for the final leg.
This happened to me on my last return to Charlotte. luckily I had room, and it made it safe and sound.

same thing happened to my bro- we cleared in Dallas then on to San Fran. He had to try to shove it into his bag and make it to the next gate in under 20 min! How fun was that? I just packed loosely and then we had pleanty of room on the way back (who cares if it's a second suitcase?- your rum will make it home safely if you pack it well!)

do I have to get shots to go there? 8o)

This was the first time I had to deal with " No Liguids" through the security screen on a International flight. I assumed since it was duty free liguid that it would be Ok. Yeah RIGHT..!!!! as " Assumed" indicates . Not today Bucko!! We had to scramble to get the alcohol into a checked bag in less than 10 min. Luckily we had taken massive stuff to San Pedro for the School there and had ample room left on our weight limit coming home. The ironic part of the whole thing is neither My wife nor I drink Alcohol ( well beer yes.) and were bringing Rum back for friends. Fun Fun Fun.. LOL!!

If we buy liquor at the duty free in the US can we carry it on our flight from Belize City to San Pedro? I know youu cannot do this when making connecting flights elsewhwere.
