Thanks Marty. Still just rings and rings, landlines and Digicell, no answer phones at all. Tried Tropic too, but that was the same and thought they were staying till noon?

in Belize City, a couple of the big department/grocery stores are
announcing closure at mid-day. The preparations are well
under way. Treasury Dept announcing closure. All schools,
esp the private ones closed. Batten down the hatches.

the hope of getting bypassed is almost gone unless this mega storm makes a Mitch turn South right now...or a Keith turn North, right now

Belize Electricity Limited has said that it has enough generating
capacity to power the entire country.

It says that even if its feed from Comision Federal de Electricidad
goes down, the Chalillo and other dams along with the gas turbine have
enough juice.

Getting weirder around here...no boats, no people on beach up north here. Very quiet!!! Sure looks like it's coming straight for us!!! Just pray all the roofs stay on and not much flooding!
