I have just spoken with Vivian from Rojo Lounge (Casa Azul) and she said that everybody is ok up North!
They have lost their dock, so has many other neighbours up North, they and Mata Chica have not much damage. The roofs (palapa) are still there, there is a little water damage, but other than that is all fine.
There is still no power on the North side of the Island, which probably will take a few more hours.

If anyone has some news from Portofino and Jan (my husband) please let me know, as I'm in Belgium and I'm very worried!

Lets just pray that there is minor damage on the Island so we can all go back home soon!

GoHawks, I tried calling Glenn & Colleen about 1/2 an hour ago but they did not answer their cell phone. They didn't stay in their home/restuarant but instead stayed with some friends in a concrete home. I'm sure they're fine. The Island was really spared.

incredible work from my server guys at www.iqs.com in vegas. they ahve been working with me to tweak the servers so that my email gets thru and the board stays up. the board has such a load the sendmail function of the server gets de-prioritized and my email stops. so if the board is a lil exptra slow now and then its me trying to drain off the email....

Only taca will have a flight but only outgoing at 5:30PM.
NO incoming.

All us-based air carriers are cancelled for today: AA, CON, DELta, USAIR

Tropic & Maya aren't expected to have flights today.

Hi Marty, message from my sister - Rosemary Smith - she has asked me to let you know that Greg, Daniel and Tellen weathered the storm at Sueno del Mar and have emerged safe and sound. There has been a bit of damage to their property, and apparently the dock from Tranquility Bay is washed up outside their house! Rosemary and baby Kerry are in Houston, having arrived there this morning from England.

From me personally, Marty - a huge thank you for running such an informative and community spirited site. I have felt close by even though I am thousands of miles away. Kind regards, Fen
