Nygal, do you mean HIPAA?
If so, then no, the messaging is not a violation. None of his health care givers are telling us anything; only his friends are sharing.

NYgal, promise no HIPPA laws being broken here. I am just a friend and relaying my own personal observations. I did not mean to imply he was totally alone and not receiving any therapy, but from my observation as well as messages from his sister who talks to the nurses, I'm not sure enough of that is happening and I hope I am wrong. My real reply/concern was that since his family is in Philly and he doesn't have a huge support group here in Texas to add to any therapy/stimulation he may be getting from the staff alone, it may not be enough. Somehow I can't seem to say the right things here. I guess what I'm trying to say is I think he needs more constant stimulation from lots of different people day in and day out. When his family was here they were able to spend hours talking and trying to stimulate which is different than people who know nothing about him or how to get his interests stimulated.

Is this messaging to us breaking any violation of HIPPA? Just curious. I want to know his progress as well as the rest of you but...... just wondered.
Bless Denny and his family. They all need strength. HIPAA prevents health care personnel from releasing information without approval. If it comes from the family, its fair game as far as HIPAA is concerned.

Just wondering, could a laptop be put in front of him and could he read it?

On a lighter note if there can be one in this situation...
Based on Denny's previous posting I would say someone needs to whisper to him that his Ex-Mother-in-laws are on the way for a visit......
I keep thinking of him and wish him all the best.
WJ thanks for all the updates. Much appreciated.

Becky Thank you so much for doing what so many of us can't. I really appreciate the updates and please don't worry about saying things "right." The news you bring us is information we couldn't get any other way and it is very much appreciated.
Denny - get better soon - you owe me lunch!!!
I can never remember which is better . . . safe? . . . or sorry?
