Hi First trip to Belize in April 2008 and was wondering is it better to take the ferry or fly from Belize City to San Pedro?
If Ferry is better does anyone have site info for the ferry.
Mainly coming to relaxe and snorkle and possibly going fishing.
Will be there 8 nights

flight = more expensive, but beautiful and efficient after a long day of travel

ferry = cheaper, but longer -- a chance to meet locals and get flavor of country

many prefer to fly in and ferry out -- pros and cons either way.

Do a search at the top of this page -- lots of info here, including ferry schedule and cost on the help pages.

All in all, you can't go wrong -- have fun and enjoy!!

We prefer the opposite of what Otter said - we like to take a cab to Triple J's taxi, grab a few Belikins for the ride, and take the slow boat to the island. No better way to ease your way into island life - the hot sun on your skin, the breeze blowing thru your hair (except for Billy! wink ), a cold beer in your hand, and paradise an hour away. Going back, I'd rather not have salt on me for the 16 hours it takes to get home, so we fly.

Fly, fly, fly. The flight is absolutely beautiful on a clear day...and it's almost always a clear day. Sometimes you can see rays, dolphins, manatees. See the beautiful uninhabited islands on the way over. Get off and a cab driver is there to handle all of your luggage. No hauling it off a boat or dragging it down a dock.
