Hello, my name is Steve, my wife and I will traveling to Ambergris Caye in July (2008) and plan to stay on the island for 1 month. We are looking for accommodations that are inexpensive but comfortable - does anyone know if there is a site where people put apartments for rent? Or if there are hotels that give big discounts for someone willing to say for a month during the low season? Am I totally out to lunch thinking I could find a place for around 15-30$ a night? I don't care if it is on the beach.

Your help is most appreciated.

If you need a room with A/C your price might be a little low. There are a few places that will rent a room for that price without AC.

The Conch Shell Hotel is located right next to Cholos bar on the beach and is in town. It goes for about $30 a night, and you could probably get a better deal if you stay for a month.

Also San Pedrono and Ruby's might be able to do something in that price range.

Pedro's Inn is cheap too.
