Just a note about wild bird raising. My hubby is great with animals of all sorts and has raised and released a few orphaned birds. The best one we ever had was a starling! No lie! Phil was the first "thing" he saw when he opened his eyes and bonded instantly. Phil taught him to hunt crickets, to perch and when he started to fly he was taken outside to practice but Phil could call him down out of a tree. He was the best but finally a mate called his name and he was gone forever.
Mockingbirds are the least friendly that we've raised, but they are not "flocking" birds. I know that mockingbirds are common in Belize as well. Starlings I haven't noticed.
