"A strange bird the cuckoo . .
it sits in the grass . .
with its wings neatly folded and its beak up its ass . . .
in this strange position, it murmurs "twit, twit" for it's hard to say "cuckoo" with a beak full of "sh . . "

This whole trash thing has gotten me thinking. I pay a pittance for my property tax to San Pedro Town Board. For that I receive garbage collection every other day, someone weed whacks and tidies our street every fortnight and we have good street lighting. I live in a residential neighbourhood and have more than one neighbour who allows their dog to trash every rubbish bin, every night. We all take responsibility for our neighbourhood and when we see garbage, we pick it up. Our street is clean and lovely.

If any of you have ever been to residential areas of London (not the pretty touristy areas), you'll see awful trash problems. We paid obscene amounts of money in property(council) tax there. Our rubbish there is now collected every two weeks. In parts of the area, trash floats around your ankles like tiny tumbleweeds and it is common knowledge that in London, you're never more than a few feet from a rat. Street lighting is intermittent at best in some areas.

I wonder why I live here.
