We're always on the lookout for an exit strategy. Maybe all of you living the dream can convince us to do it sooner rather than later.

You will be very happy at Belizean Shores. I'm sure you will meet a lot of interesting people and may never leave.

Marty has great maps to check out on this site.
Belizean shores may even turn lights off for you if you ask them.
North is better for less man made lighting.
Did you know you will be near 18 degrees North Latitude?
Mrs. Astrodude - I doubt you will need any convincing - sooner is only a matter of economics to most!

Weather dependent you may want to consider adventuring further up the coast one night - where there is no electrical power grid so the occasional house or hotel will be lit up.

Also you could consider an overnight trip to Turneffee or Lighthouse Reef - you can almost pick the stars out of the sky on a clear night (no moon.)

The photos on your site are amazing!

Enjoy your visit.

With you staying at Belizean Shores, a great place to view the stars is just south at Essense Ways' dock - go to the end of their dock and go upstairs! Also going a little north or south of Belizean Shores you can find a place with little light.

margarita,

Thanks for the info. Whenever Mrs Astrodude and I travel I always look at the latitude of the destination and then start memorizing star maps to help once I am there. Unfortunately, it never helps, I am always amazed at how much the stars shift when traveling........

kwalkpt,

Thanks for the info, Mrs Astrodude and I always venture out from our lodging looking for interesting things and it gives us an excuse to get a little adventureous in remote spots (if you know what I mean wink wink )
