My husband and I love Caulker...so much so that when we booked a cruise in September we decided on one that will stop in Belize City from 8am - 5pm.

There are no excursions to Caulker but we'd love to jump the water taxi and head out for lunch and Belikin and walk barefoot down to the split.

We wanted some "expert" opinions...can't miss the cruise ship, though it's not such a bad thing to be left in Caulker! But we have never pushed the timing to this extreme with the water taxi's. Do you think it's doable if we plan on leaving at 3pm...or should we shoot for earlier 1:30pm taxi? Not sure where the cruise ships will tender in and this may affect our decisions...on the cruise as well. May just head to Caulker for the whole vacation after all!

You came to your senses in that last sentence. We were there in Feb for a day and not a whole lot has changed but you can see that it is changing.

Also the cruise ships are usually on a different "time" - they stay on EST or EDT - so you need to know that before you decide what water taxi schedule.

I vote for you just to go to Caye Caulker for the week!!!! LOL.

But really, my husband and I stayed on Caulker for a week in February and loved it. If you should decide to go to Caulker for a week, it is great. Nice people, beautiful island and the split....well, the split is awesome. We really enjoyed our week, I guess you can tell.

I'd forgotten about the time of the cruise ship vs. Belize time.

We have until June to decide...our last vacation was 10 days in Caulker in January 2007. We may just make a repeat performance.
