What about Rendezvous Restaurant and Winery or Buena Vista at Captain Morgan's Retreat or Luna Palm Tree at Journey's End?

Correct. This is when each business usually takes their breaks or vacations as it's generally the slowest months for them.

How was Sunset grill for you? I have always been very happy with the food there. The Sunsets and Tarpon are nice too.

Playa Lounge would be a great choice for the full moon also. I highly recommend the coconut crusted chicken satay as an appetizer. Yum!!!

Most of the places are closed up north - Captain Morgan's is closed for Sept and Journey's End is closed. Upper Deck is only opened for take out. Not sure if Rendevous is open this week but will be closed the end of September. It is really slow right now. With a lot of the restaurants closed the supermarkets (Super Buy and Greenhouse) are also not getting in a lot of food.
Ak'Bol is opened for breakfast and lunch. The Palapa is also open. (I know these are not "upscale")

Yes. I heard Akbol has awesome breakfasts at local prices.

Palapa will be closing for two weeks I heard but not sure which 2 weeks.
