Why would anyone want to help him, except maybe clinically? He's nothing but a violent drunkard, and there are enough of those around.

No, I genuinely can't remember who it was, as I'm not a football devotee. But there was enormous controversy over him in Britain, when it was realised the extent of the scarce resources being expended on someone who it was believed (correctly, as it turned out) would not change his lifestyle one jot. It was perhaps the ultimate insult to the family of the deceased whose liver this person was given.
