When was the last time anyone has talked to anyone on SP? Everything i'm hearing seems to be very old. Whats new?

phones are dead. new news is sporadic and brief and off cb radio. just got this:

Just in via Tropic Air radio 9.30 PM

Winds increasing to 85 MPH
4 ft of water covering land on lagoon side
Lots of roofs off
No loss of life
No land telephones
No cellular service available either because of loss of antenna

I think cell phone connection to San Pedro finally went down around 2-3pm CST. I don't think there have been many/any communications since then (save some radio?).

What is the situation with shortwave radios? I'm unfamiliar. Are these affected by storms?
