Sorry about that. That definitely isn't very sporting at all. They'll take a kayak for $100 (round trip, no less), but say no outright to an odd sized/over weight box which would have to be infinitely easier to handle than either a kayak or windsurfer board. That makes no sense. Think you could get it in a bike box? Worth a shot... the box and the table are the same general shape at least.

Hi Tacogirl - have you looked into Amerijet? That is how I ship most of my stuff down. They fly all of the US and internationally. The rates are reasonable. You will need to have a customs broker clear your stuff through at this.

There are carriers (bus and train) in the UK that will not take a bicycle even if it is a folding one inside a suitcase, though they will take the suitcase with other contents. If they suspect there could be a bicycle in it they will open the case before they accept it. The lunatics really have taken over the asylum.
