Just passing on info to anyone interested. I was inquiring about this development myself. I just got off the phone with Kyle Cusmano and he informed me that the site plan showing on their web site is the scaled down, up to date plan. They will start building end of month. Phase 1 will include the Casino, some of the villas and condo units. He was quite helpful I'm sure if someone contacted him he would be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks Connie, but that is curious information. The only site plan I see on the South Beach website is

and it is dated May 5, 2008 and certainly doesn't look scaled down. If only part of the site is being developed initially, that should be clearly indicated, i.e. Phase 1, and then everybody who is interested in this development would know what is going on.

Not sure what to tell you bout that. I came across a site in google images that showed a legend for each phase of the site plan but it was not a clear image- hard to read.

Sounds like they got the plans to the building authority yesterday...after Tommy was talking to them. Didn't take them long to consider it.

The south beach belize website is not very clear - its hard to get a handle on prices/sizes of property they have for sale.

So is the site plan on the website a finalized plan?
Just courious, how do the locals feel about the development. It seems like a large development to be putting on the Island. Hopefully it doesn't take away from what draws people to the island to begin with. I guess it is probably a double edge sword. It's like people here living in a quiet, peaceful country setting with little around them and next thing they know there is a highway at their back door and a Walmart at their front door.

There is A LOT of opposition to South Beach. you can find ample material on the subject on this board if you do a search.

Hi Diane - don't want to cause any upset. I've read some of the posts and after seeing the development plan I can understand the contraversary that would be stirred up on the Island over it.
Many farmers just North of the city where I live have lost their land or good portions of it over the years to a super highway that is going in. It's been going on for years now and construction hasn't even started. Many of them have owned their land over 50 years and there has been a great deal of uproar over it.

Connie, I have property way down south. I've closely followed this issue since it's introduction as it will impact "my" area the most.

I can assure you that the posted plot map currently on the South Beach Belize web site is the same plot map that has been posted for months now.

Just so you know I'm not anti-Jeff and not completely opposed to South Beach Belize although I do think the theme is in poor taste. I also think the development should be a "low density" development instead of the current "high density" plan.

Also I doubt any plans have been submitted to the San Pedro Building Authority as of yet. I spoke with them Friday afternoon and none had been submitted at that time.

As you may have already determined there is alot of inaccurate info out there. Double check any infromation given to you with different independent sources.
