I was a lurker on another board when someone posted that they hated when people called each other by pet names like Hon, Sweetie and the like. As some of you are aware, it's highly likely that I am the contrarian that I am suspected of being, so that asinine statement was my cue to immediately choose Hon as my board name there and I've used it where it was available ever since.

I joined years ago. I actually think I may have joined a bit earlier than my profile says I did. Hmmm . . .or maybe I just read daily for almost a year before actually signing on?

In any event, IIRC, I wanted a name that would be suggestive of my love for the sea and also express my harmless and oh so innocent nature.
