Well, I thought I would chime in on this. Normally, a Margarita is not my drink of choice but was offered one at Leah Ann's house back in January, and I gotta say - she makes THE best blended Marg (for me sans sal). I'll hope a train/plane/car for another invite smile

Maybe LA would invite the Trumpets for a Margarita one of these days when she is ready to be skerrid!

But why eat my vegetables I already know that I am short!

...for what it's worth, most bartenders salt (or sugar) drinks incorrectly. The salt (or sugar) is meant to go on just the outside of the rim of the glass, not on both the inside and outside. EX: to salt a glass for a margarita, one should rub a wedge of lime on the outside of the glass then roll the glass while held at an ANGLE on a plate of salt. If you simply overturn the glass onto the salt and spin it around, salt will get on both sides of the rim of the glass. Who cares you ask? Well, the goal of salting the rim of the glass is to have the salt hit your tongue as you sip the drink... not to add salt TO the drink. If you're going to salt the inside of the glass, you might as well just pour salt into the drink. This is one reason why the "prepackaged" margarita salt containers you can buy are rubbish... the ones with the yellow lid that you can pour salt in and spin the glass around on.

So no, I don't like salt "on" or "in" my margarita... If your bartender knows what they are doing, such won't happen.

CBT - your invite was personally delivered a couple of weeks ago. You and Shauna pick dates yet? We can have margaritas before the wine tasting! grin Oh, and you two have a ways to go before I'd be skerrid of you! eek

I can never remember which is better . . . safe? . . . or sorry?
