Helping out in San Pedro, or anywhere else on earth, isn't a matter of who, how much or why. It's just a matter of WHEN.

I too prefer to sweep the dirt under the rug and drop the thread but there are a handful of us that know the truth about the founding and changing of the spsc. it bothers us. & quite frankly, i have never made a complaint, only requests for finacial information. after being promised the info after the donations were made, i only received insults. that is not very productive.
as in the national enquirer, pls do not believe everything you read in this thread.
i am very pleased with the progress that has been made with the funds. that is what it was all about & we had a good time doing it. it was when the communication became hushed that the problems began. it is easy for you folks that do not really know what happened to throw daggers. that is the shame. ignorance is and always will be bliss.

To me, the problem seems to stem from thinly veiled accusations directed not at the SPSC itself but at a certain individual. Stating that one knows the 'truth' suggests that another individual is lying, that communications were 'hushed' implies that someone else is conspiring and commenting 'ignorance is bliss' indicates that there could be a scheme afoot to keep trusting SPSC members in the dark.

I wonder what would happen if these types of accusations were made against any of you? I know if it were me, and I had done my best to be upfront and forthcoming, it would get my back up and I might be inclined to hurl an insult or two in my frustration.

As pug said, there is plenty to raz Ernie about. Did you see that shirt he had on at BC's a few weeks ago? Geez! However, personally, I don't think there is any way to call his honesty and integrity into question and to suggest that he would do anything to shortchange the kids of San Pedro is ludicrous.

I've not "stirred the pot" regarding SPSC in the past. Please feel free to look over my posts.
I was poking fun at the fact that Ernie actually paid for something out of his pocket. Many, many of you have done the same thing.
I have never expressed any doubt that Ernie has put in a tremendous amount of time and effort to get things accomplished for many of the various causes in San Pedro. But he was really tight with his money when I knew him and thus my remark.
My apology to anyone who may have been offended.
