I always thought this was relatively straightforward, till I tried with my latest Toshiba. Does anyone who knows about such things have experience with hardware that appears incompatible with XP?

36 months later, we still have absolutely no problems with vista on 2 desktop boxes here....

My Vista is working OK, though I know that with XP my machine would be much faster. But the main problem is that I have a lot of software I want to use that simply won't run under Vista, and I'm not prepared to pay the US$2k+ that it will cost to buy Vista versions.
