I couldn't agree more. On that note, can we kill this thread about meta-board manners and keep it on-topic as a spot where 'out of towners' can get some help from folks who are 'on site'?
BTW- Much thanks to all of you. I've received a ton of info and guidance and I am stunned by the generousity of all of the people here. I'm giving serious thought to relocating PERMINENTLY here from the states. Luckily my income stems from a business that I can bring with me... thank you internet!
Contrary to popular belief a couple of bad apples do not spoil the whole bunch. Of course, I've loved everywhere I've lived... New York City, Baltimore Maryland, Fort Knox Kentucky, Podunk Virginia (my nickname for the Lexington area... there's nothing here...); every place has it's pros and cons.
It's the people who want to move to AC because where they are from is so aweful... I stay away from those. They'll be first to complain about things once they get here and the honeymoon ends.
Resurrecting this old topic for a quick update. It seems as though 2 out of 3 internet cafes (barrier reef dr) are up for sale. Am I missing something? Is A.C. getting slammed by an economic down-turn or is this an odd coincidence?
The last thing I want to do is put my money into something that is dieing. Already did that with my 401k. =)
Have you moved here yet Jason? The internet cafes seem to turn over ownership frequently. Perhaps it is an affordable way for people to get their feet wet when they first arrive - after a while they move on to something else and sell the business to new set of island livers. That seems to be the trend of the past.
actually amanda the internet cafes always seem to end up with the original owners Chris at Coconet/Pelicannet-Ivo at Caribbean Connection both sold and both have bought them back
