Jerry Jeff has scheduled the first week of Camp Belize for January 3rd - 10th, 2010. I got to thinking about coming in a couple of days early and ringing in the New Year on the island. When I found out there will be a Blue Moon on the 31st I liked the idea even better. I haven't celebrated NYE in years for fear of the cops and the amateur drunks on the streets. Being within stumbling distance of home (on a sandy beach no less) takes care of that problem.

My question is are there any public celebrations, observances or cool parties on New Year's Eve? Any epic NYE stories to share?

The archives are well maintained and should be helpful in answering your query. My personal thought, There's never a "bad" time to visit San Pedro and the more time - the better.

Its been like 7 years ago that i was on the island for New Years but i was in the old coconuts and went to a great party at Ramons at midnight...This was truly a great new years celebration!

I've been to San Pedro on New Years a few times; always had fun. Make sure you go by the park downtown and dance in the streets with the locals. We also were able to hit about three different countdowns; as none of the clocks seemed to be syncronized.
