There are a least 1/2 a dozen advertized medium and mega sized planned projects in the area. The majority are ridiculously un-feasible. 1 on the west side has been abandoned leaving the local contractor holding the bag, liable for un-paid construction costs.

There was a master plan developed, though not entirely detailed, far from perfect, it did however identify areas deemed as high and low density, and zoning. It was never followed through or Gazetted. To bad, these big projects in these areas would have never even been considered if this plan was followed.

harriette & pam, so one does not have to be a resident or local to join the ACCSD?

No you do not have to be a resident. Everyone who loves the island and wants to maintain the integrity of its character should join. PM tacoboy and he can sign you up and get you on the mailing list.

The email address is posted on the bottom of the site: accsdbz@gmail.com

When you click on the "Membership Form page" you can read the instructions:

It was the signature part that I was concerned about, and I don't have a scanner or fax machine. I couldn't find a mailing address on the website. If ACCSD wants to attract more members, maybe they should develop a form that can be completed and submitted online, or at least a way to get on an emailing list. They could also set up a method to have donations charged to a credit card.

Do you have a digital camera or a cellphone with camera - that works too.

Mail addresses in Belize go like this: Name, then: "General Delivery" or the PO Box number and finally: "San Pedro Belize". The post office will then give it to the right person or company.

We to are concerned and after our last visit in Feb/March I couldn't believe how much building had gone on! It has changed so much in the last few years, although we still love it and haven't yet considered going anywhere else. (Yes we can only get there once a year)

What we wondered is who is going to rent/buy all of those places?
