Many people have tried to take Bianca or Playa home. Her owner gets wind of it and starts fighting for her. I talked to her about it the last time a guest of ours wanted her and she got all upset about it and said that she paid $400.00BZ for her. I think she only wanted to see if she could get some money off the kind lady. Her owner also has two pekinese dogs. She takes real good care of them does not let them out of her sight and has them on her lap or bar counter all day. I am convinced that she does not love Playa if she can be so heartless and let her roam the streets. I would just keep her and not even worry about her, I haven't seen her searching for her Bianca anyways. You did her and Playa a favor.

I have a couple staying here now that had spoken to the vet and wanted to take her to Canada, I told them that you had given her a good home and they are very happy to hear it.
Canukgirl I just hope she does not try to come back to town.

Let's just keep this our secret.... Seriously, though, I don't think that dog is going anywhere - she is a very happy pup smile

Well...I feel bad about having someone's dog. If she wants her she can come and talk to me.

However, Playa/Snowball/Rio/Bianca is pretty skinny and is always out on the street looking for scraps. I fell like if she would spent a week with this many vacationers, then she wasn't too missed at home.

We are in love with her now and will treat her very well. She is sleeping at the front door right now after our morning walk smile

Let's let a sleeping dog lie....thanks all!

I agree that many people on the island have quite a relaxed approach to dog ownership, but Playa/Bianca/Snowball is a "pot licker" dog and it's common that they roam around town and make new friends. What you may see as neglect is just another example of the off-beat nature of this island. Dogs eat scraps and roam the streets here, even dogs with owners. Have you ever seen a local person put a leash on their dog? How much Alpo do you think they sell at Super Buy? .....and my point stands, Playa/Bianca/Snowball has an owner and I think that you should at least go talk to her about this situation.

You might want to look at the situation now, rather than in a few months time when you really get attached to the dog, especially if you ever want to bring the dog into and around town on the Golf Cart etc.

It appears she is well down the list of priorites to her owner and it is probably easily solved - and there's very little chance she paid $400 for a pot licker.

I've noticed that Bianca is back with her owner at the game room on Front St. I hope that all parties are satisfied with this outcome. I must say that it's nice to see her making new friends around Cholo's and the Conch Shell once again.

We were just talking about her today and wondering what was up, as she hung out with my brother and I in November and me in February. Great dog, hope all is okay!

It doesn't sound like the dog was well cared for or for that matter loved very much. I'm sorry but in my opinion if you "own" a dog it is your responsibility to care for it including food, shots and making sure it is safe. I also "adopted" this cutie the last 2 years and she deserves better than what it sounds like she is getting. I am aware that some dog owners let their dogs run but should they be starving???

Sorry, just my opinion and it just makes me sad. I also would have taken her home if not for the dogs I already own.
