My experience is that most dive operators like to take divers to Hol Chan when they first arrive - as a check out dive.

I have never gotten tired of diving Hol Chan. A couple of weeks ago I was diving with an underwater videographer and as we were coming back to the boat - in about 3' of water - cruising just above the eel grass - a very long green moray swim right underneath me. I was able to get Roger's attention and he got some great footage of me swimming beside the eel.

Never pass up Hol Chan - it is different everytime.

Hi copywronger,

No way should you do the hole on this trip. The Blue Hole is fairly remote and it's a deep dive. If you got hurt or bent you'd be a long way from help. Do the hole on another trip, after you're experienced and comfortable on deep dives.

You'd probably have trouble finding a dive outfit to take you on the trip. None of these guys want to do a rescue, or even worse, a recovery dive at the hole.

My BZ$0.02, do the hole another time. It's the signature dive of Belize, so you should log it. But I wouldn't want you to do it on this trip. Come back during Whale Shark season and do the hole then!

Dan
