I will say that I have before been quoted a price in BZD where they later they tried to charge me in USD. The first time this happened I just paid the USD total, partly because I was naive and partly because I generally give people the benefit of the doubt and figured I must have misheard.

When it has happened since, I have refused to pay. One of those times, they ended up giving it to me in BZD when I was walking out and at another time they let me go. I'm not saying that this is a frequent occurrence on AC, but it is something to watch out for. I certainly have places I won't return to for that reason. Taxi's are the worst for this IMHO. What is really irritating is that I'm a big tipper too, but if you are going to try to screw me on the price, don't think you're getting a tip.

My recommendation is to take the name of the person who did it and approach the owner if they are there or post here asking for contact information of the owner. Odds are it's not the owner pocketing the extra and they would be interested to learn about the problem.

We had an excellent meal there just a couple of weeks ago and will certainly go back when they re-open after the holidays. Remember that in Italy the pasta course is not the main meal - it is called the first plate and is eaten between the antipasto and the second plate or main entree. So it is supposed to be small!

I always do that as well. But when quoted $7 Belize before getting in, I've also been told it is $7 US when getting out.

That's when you tell them to drive you to the police station so you can discuss that matter with them. Should change their mind pretty fast.

There is a simple rule for Gringos in Belize. If you owe someone money, it is in US. If they owe you, it is in BZ.

Also no answer at the phone number listed on their web site. Still waiting for an email response. However, I don't particularly think you need to contact a business that has given you poor service, poor product and double charged you before reviewing them on a board. But that's just my opinion. I would just like them to put the extra $ they took back on my card.
