Ahh - there's the crap. Didn't take long did it Marty? I wondered who would rush (no pun intended) to take the first jab.

Fine with me, I never read it anyway.

2 points, and a final comment:

1) No-one was compelled or even coerced to visit US Chat…it was set up so that those of us who care to discuss US issues had a place to do so…...to think that these discussions will disappear is foolish, they will now just permeate the other areas of the board, which was why US Chat was set up initially!

2) To suggest that "we take this somewhere else" is an example of a suggestion preceding a coherent thought! What has made US Chat so enjoyable at its best is that all sides of an issue have been represented....most political sites are just echo chambers that do nothing more than kiss the a$$ of the previous poster.

Leah Ann, Otter, Reaper, Marty and occasionally H2Odog were all able to bring points of view and opinions that I would not have seen or heard from my news sources of choice.

Most reasonable people will not take issue with presenting a point of view based on facts or even heartfelt convictions.

And a comment:
those who are unable to contribute to debate and can only add insults after someone else has made a comment will still be with you, just posting, Utubing, cutting and pasting in a different forum

Spot on Pug....I couldn't imagine someone coming to AC looking through USA Chat for anything! As I approach my 23rd trip to the island I will share what I have learned from this board about AC...........

It's hard to let go. Megalo has lost his bully pulpit of manufactured facts while still confusing debate with partisan political jabberwocky. Maybe there should be a little bit of real estate set aside on the board as Timmy's corner, where those that choose to participate.................

I too will miss the site. Yes many times things got a bit sideways but that is to be expected. I learned many things and was swayed to points of view I would not have thought otherwise.
As I look to the bottom of the page, again I see the vast majority of visitors are from the USA. Is it normal to have such diverse conversations on a site dedicated to, in this case Belize, so much about USA, I don't know. What I do know is, more info about Belize is shared here than any other site and from such a diverse cross section of people. The one thing in common from all adversaries is the love of Belize and its people and cultures. Having said that, differences of opinions are to be expected just as they are with the people of Belize. We aren't killing each other in the chat site, and I doubt that we would ever reach that point in a heated dispute at say BC's. We are all for the most part friends and as with our at home friends things don't always stay congenial amoung us. That too passes with time. Banter is just that, banter. We can choose to be a part of it or not. Thats the beauty of freedom and independence.
That is what sets us apart from much of the world. Just my opinion, Thanks
