We took the golf cart road and there is no sign for Belizean Shores or Les Terraz (?) So being someone who doesn't know the island, how do you know which road leads down to these establishments. We are staying near Mata Grande Grocery and were all the way to Captain Morgan's before we found a sign on the road. Help please. We would love to go to dinner at both of these places but need your help.

Time flies when you are having rum!!!

Both are close to the golf cart path, so when you see a resort slow down and check it out, but you're right that signing isn't a strong point for many of the North Ambergris resorts. In fact that's true for 90% of the hotels and resorts in Belize -- signs are often small or even non-existant.

If I remember correctly, Belizean Shores and Las Terrazas are both a little north of Captain Morgan's.

If you head south from the MG area, you will go along the off-beach road in Mata Grande and then briefly back onto a track on the beach. Follow that south, and then you once again (before Journey's End) turn off the beach. The road goes through Journey's End, then past Solaria and next stop is Las Terrazzas. White buildings, minimalist structures - black trim - the back units are right on the roadside so you won't miss them. The distance from Mata Grande is approximately 1 mile.

For Belizean Shores keep going south from LT about 1/4 mile. You will pass some private homes, then Seascape and then a messy stretch of road. When the road gets pretty again (complete with a boulevard of plants) you are at Belizean Shores. A three story building is on your left (east side) of road very near the road itself. The restaurant is on the top floor.

Don't forget to drive north and try the great food at Rojo, Mambo, Portofino and Costa Maya. All different, all good.

Good post , this is going to motivate me to put up a sign in the road. Odd but the business is always coming from the beach and water front where we have lots of signs. Its just the road...
its not really a road where you might expect traffic dropping in from...but the world changes quickly and soon I'm sure we'll have an exit ramp sign:-)

Would that be an exit off the Corona Freeway Elbert? Don't forget to provide the ramp number!

According to the maps posted along the road at Tres Cocos and at Dave's house near the bridge, the name of the road going north from the bridge up is "Tropicana Drive". I think I'd rather have it called "Corona Freeway" than have my address with a road named after the brand name of orange juice!!!

Elbert, just don't have them driving through Solaria anymore than they already do, please.

I put on all those forms that insist I have a street address and zip code that I live on North Road and the zip is 'noneo'.
Don't worry martin I'll have the ramp exit go through Journeys End.
