Carlos, I do plan to visit before making a purchase. However, this is the only property I'm considering in Belize at the moment. It seems silly to make the trip if I could be warned in advance about something that may be wrong with the property or area.

I've been trying to get in touch with the owner for several weeks. He or she has only listed email for contact, but doesn't respond to my emails. That seems to be a red flag. If this person is so desperate to get rid of this property, you'd think he'd try to contact prospective buyers.

You guys know anything about Amerigris Lake Villas. My brother is considering a 2br there?

Craigslist has a looong history of people posting too good to be true items/houses/cars/massages (oops!!!) LOL Be careful

Mosquitos. Lots and Lots of Mosquitos on the Lagoon side. We lived back there for a while. Nice area, but don't go out at dusk or dawn unless you want to donate blood and believe me they are not afraid of OFF.

To be very frank when mosquitoes are out and about they are everywhere except town. The beach, inland, the lagoon, the lakes -everywhere.

I agree with Amanda

Many a time I have ran down the beach running from the clouds of mosquitos chasing me right down the dock into my boat and my house was right on the beach.
