I've just returned from my first trip to AC. It was great. I found this board during planning and you guys helped in making decisions. Thank you! But, nothings as good as going and doing. I'm so glad I decided on Belize. What a place! The people, the food, the reef. It's all great.
Chosen base camp: Journey's End
We wanted specific ammenities and they provided. nice place. Our cabana was ideal, private, close to water and cool A/C. The diveshop was right there and the staff was great. Spouse likes pool and spent much time up to neck fondling one barrells.
I was concerned after reading about being cut-off from San Pedro. I found no problem going anytime. The resort has a boat going several times a day and the ferry goes south every odd hour and back north every even.
Some of my first: I caught my first bonefish (it took hours) wading not 50 steps from my room. My first dive past 130' was in The Blue Hole (glad I did it but, walls around Lighthouse is best)
Some favorites:
Don't miss the Fisherman's Soup at JE on Fridays.
Snorkel the Aquarium just off Caye Caulker, sharks and rays, even more than shark ray alley. Ihave some cool pictures if anyone wants to see. Maybe Marty could show me how to post. Anyway, planning next trip, began just minutes ago.
