Yes, but without the rolling waves.

Radio just predicted winds of 35-40 MPH for San Pedro. That is not so bad. The high water is the issue.

In all likelihood Diane's and some others assessments should be correct for San Pedro. High water being the most worrisome. That is UNLESS the NE quadrant pushes closer and then we need to be concerned about much higher winds above 50 mph to 80 and then with that would come rolling wave action too. Just need to keep ours eyes on the track and any signs of increased strength.

Results for Ambergris Caye (San Pedro), Belize (18.03N, 87.9W - about the center of the island north to south):
The approximate Closest Point of Approach (CPA) is located near 17.0N, 88.1W or about 71.3 miles (114.8 km) from your location. The estimated time of when the center of the storm will be at that location is in about 18.5 hours (Sunday, October 24 at 10:30PM CDT) 9:30pm in Belize.

Richard is officially a hurricane. Currently a strong cat 1 (85 mph) and expected to gain some in strength. It is also now traveling at 12 mph and tracking a bit more north.
