But the proposed extension is....

Dredge and fill, dredge and fill...let's make a bigger Island!

I know...I got it right away...but if they want to put the water taxis back there, and one just went aground this week...well, hell.... dredge it to how many feet? That football field, where nobody ever plays football, slopes down to the water anyway. It's a great venue for Costa Maya, and other town events, but the guys play football elsewhere. Why don't they just leave that out of the project...didn't someone think recently it should be a parking garage? And, they were going to block off Front St (or Middle) so you had to park there...and PAY!
Does anybody have a memory here?

This field is still called a football pitch but serves as a town gathering place for many events including the Costa Maya Festival, baseball tournaments,music and dance concerts, and many others. The parking area is designated on this plan as the area East of the through street.
You should attend the information meetings where you could not only learn about this project but you could voice you concerns/objections.

Jesse, I was just presenting one of the older plans, and I know I was correct about that. Do you know what should is? It's a word people use to tell others what to do...
I doubt you were at the meeting. I depend on our crack reporting from our fabulous media reporters. So, media reporter, how many details have you reported from your attendance. Oops...forgot, you are very proud of the fact you cut and paste. Why not report personally all the details! From your attendance at the meeting yourself?

But I'm not the uninformed outsider criticizing every project without any idea of the situation or implications for the community.

Jesse, ha, ha, I'm not uninformed, an outsider, or have no ideas about the implications for projects that are self serving. Let's suck up to foreign countries that want more from us than we should give. The amount of money for this has already been determined, that it could be better used elsewhere, in a country that needs so many things.

Again, I didn't see you in the picture of the meeting. Stick with cutting and pasteing. You can't have it both ways.
And, oh, for those ten blocks of this Island; I've never seen a tourist back there.

The water taxi terminal being proposed back by the football field if built there it would simply be in the worst place . I have suggested at previous meetings that they should put it by the marina or close by either way it should be out of town,as it would alleviate some of the congestion in town. All water taxi will be required to dock on 1 pier and put their booths on one building that in itself would be a plus for many reasons,wish the airlines would do the same,only in Belize this tolerated.This project is to be sustainable, it won't in my opinion if built there. There are 3water taxis right now some of them if I'm not mistaken carry over 100 passengers, in ten years from now we could have 200 passengers per boat imagine the traffic especially close to the biggest primary school in SP. Our local leaders continually have failed us with any kind of long term plan or leadership. Where is the Master Plan

What about the many travelers who don't have other transportation but walk up to the water taxi landings?
