All the phones went out up here in Mata Grande - no cellular, no hardline - can't call BTL to report it, but probably they know?

Any info?

They were out in Tres Cocos as well, even cellulars, and although my CCV connection said it was connected, I was unable to connect. They just all came back on.Check out this link about solar flares!

It happened for a little while yesterday too. Solar flares I can accept - thank goodness it's not another labour issue!

There was report about this on today's Love FM news. It was just a power outage, but I didn't hear a reason for the outage.

I loved the solar flares reason - far more fun than yet another power flutter.

Of course we'll never hear any reason as to why so many surprise climate events...One advice..if you live next door to a computer guru or science geek and you see them loading up their polaris or golfcarts then ya'll better get the packing and follow the "told you so's" LOL

We could be in for a huge firework display in 2012. The Sun will be approaching the peak of its 11-year cycle, called "solar maximum", so we can expect a lot of solar activity. Some predictions put the solar maximum of Solar Cycle 24 even more energetic than the last solar maximum in 2002-2003 (remember all those record breaking X-class flares?). Solar physicists are already getting excited about this next cycle and new prediction methods are being put to good use. But should we be worried?
