Here we go again.....registered 38 minutes ago. I hope you know, T, how many people are against the practices of this developer! I think it's a crime to develop this type of environment. Anyplace else it would have been designated a national park.

Well, if you consider the low density and high quality and the eco friendly architecture from an observers' perspective, it looks good. Have you had a chance to speak with the developer personally? I sure would like to. Lets make Belize a better place.

VERY INTERESTIN (but as Artie Shaw would say) Not funny!

I looked on the internet to find this project since no link was listed.
DO YOU GET that this complex is NOT on the beach for the reef? Its back on the lagoon actually looks like the 2nd lagoon back.

I don't see any way of quickly getting to any dive site either. But the narrative does go on and on about the reef.

HUMM - reminds me of another one of my most unfavorite developments that from their website and brochures people thought they were buying on the beach only to find out there is a road and LARGE lots that will someday be built on between them and their view of the sea.

It is beginning to look to me like Mother Natures Best Kept Secret is how many questionable developments will be started (I didn't say built) before the masses catch on????

So - who is this developer you are touting and what else has s/he built?

The Karrie Bennett allegations against Scott Mallick are false. I had a private investigator check on this. After weeks of research, he said that the Karrie Bennett FBI Article against Scott Mallick is false. I feel bad for this guy. Plus he reported that there has been building over the last 12 months. I am still trying to figure out why people seem to be going on here say and not facts. We need to be positive and see what Belize can be! If you can't say something nice, we shouldn't say it at all. Let's not forget basic human kindness.

I have a friend who is an investor with mayan islands and has nothing but great things to say. i have seen photos of the new construction as it has happened over the past 2 years (while many developers have gone under worldwide because of the current economic climate) and it is stunning. the only unsubstantiated information out there seems to be coming from Pedro at [#%!].com.He has no proof whatsoever that Scott Mallick is a crook, a theif,or that the FBI is involved because they are not. Does he know or has he even ever met Karrie Bennett or Mr. Mallick? I also have checked into the FBI claims and they are not true. Please have the decency to only post facts. Try to keep Belize the beautiful place that it is.

Interesting. Just how many 80' yachts come to Belize? And just how deep is the water there, about 3'?

We go many time from our home on the lagoon in DFC with the kayak across the lagoon and around the Mayan Island. But to be honest I could left the Kayak at home the water is never deeper as 5 feet and on the around the whole Maya Island max 3 feets.

Quote: Marina of Mayan Islands
Mayan Islands has one of the largest super-yacht marinas anywhere in the world. Designed by Applied Technology and Management (ATM), the marina at Mayan Islands is a true boater's paradise. Source (http://www.foundersregistry.com/properties/MayanIslands-of-Belize.php)

This means if the buyers stack with the super yachts on the ground of the not existent Marina, they can just jump in the water and walk over to San Pedro an see how a real Ocean Beach looks like and then get a hart attack over there lost investment with no money back guaranty.

Maybe they have a special low draft barge that they will put the yachts on to bring them to the back side?
