Hoping that some one can advise me on where to pick up some basic kitchen supplies. Our condo is not stocked well for an extended stay with 2 people that love to cook. I don't need anything fancy, just some bowls of varying sizes, a few plates, and maybe 2 or three other things. Any help would be much appreciated.

Caye Supply on back street... or Wings

Caye supplies - it is located on the back street (black coral street) and is close to the old foot ball field. on the lagoon by the old football field AKA Saca Chispas, is where you can buy fresh fish and fresh veggies - but you will have to figure what days and times etc.

Things that I brought from home that came in handy:
- Spam and Velveeta (never eat them at home but it worked with eggs in the morning).
- Dry Salami (sandwiches with the Velveeta)
- Pasta
- Parmasan cheese
- Clams (for a pasta sauce)
- Cutting board
- Cutting knife
- Olive Oil
- Salad Dressing
Everything else I purchased on the island. Hope this helps.

FYI, with the exception of good chefs knives all of the above are readily available on the island.

Food & Beverage in Belize city have a fair selection of chef's knives.

Oh, and tupperware purchased here is either highly expensive or really awful.

Awesome sandwich rolls, cinnamon rolls, etc. at Mathieu's Delicatessen. They make fresh bread loaves to order! Good healthy sandwiches also (roast beef and ham).
I didn't have a chance to try their daily specials but I heard they are great also.

Thank you SlimJim! We've now got a vacuum packer and new chest freezer - so if anyone doesn't feel like cooking (or can't get the equipment) we will be selling handmade pastas, sauces, patés, pizzas, burgers etc freshly frozen for heating up or defrosting at your leisure!
