The SACNW has my vote....We supported them from a distance and continue to support them as a permanent neighbor. From being able to work out minor differences to contacting the local Patrol when a suspicious person appears. All that coupled with great get together events plus a sense of community, all of this is what makes this group top notch......We also have members both charter and board members who are local and natural born citizens....It is truly a great neighborhood.....Thank you SACNW......We wish the same for all the other Watch groups.......

Thanks for the reminders all. Yes I remember attending meetings with Dr. Wil. And I remember some heated discussions about the fine line between safety/security/privacy and light pollution - a subject that continues to divide people even today.

I don't like the way the street light by my house prevents us from enjoying all of the stars, but I do like that it provides a good layer of protection to my block.

We have sold our home in the SACNW area, but would like to put in a plug for this great group. I also remember the meetings when Dr. Lala organized the group. Amanda is correct, it became much more manageable when we made the areas smaller. Most of all we had a very determined and dedicated group of individuals who directed the group to where it is today. Getting together for potluck dinners, Xmas , Halloween projects, sign painting for the kids really helped families get to know each other and consequently look out for each other. Not everyone in a group will be happy with every decision, but working together for the common good of all the neighbors would be a good start to get your group going in the right direction.

Is this a not for profit association? I think it is great to have such a group but if it is a for profit business then you should consider renting some ad space on the board.

Wish you luck getting some organization up there - if everyone will band together and be alert there will be less problems
